The Original Behemecoatyl Maquette on ebay!added 2009-09-30 Justin Humphreys, wrote me that he's seeling on ebay this wonderful piece of art: The Original Behemecoatyl Maquette. Here is the description: Here's your chance to own the supreme villain from Paul Verhoeven's STARSHIP TROOPERS franchise (in miniature, at least): BEHEMECOATYL, the gargantuan, Lovecraftian "God Bug" from Edward Neumeier's STARSHIP TROOPERS 3: MARAUDER (2008). This maquette/model was rendered in Sculpey by Mark Villalobos of Monster F/X Studios. (Most of SST3:M's miniature f/x work was shot at Sota F/X in Van Nuys, which was adjacent to Monster F/X at the time.) It is approximately 10" high x 10" wide x 13 3/4" long. The creature was designed by two-time Academy Award-winner Robert Skotak (ALIENS, TERMINATOR 2, THE ABYSS, BATMAN RETURNS). THIS PIECE IS ABSOLUTELY ORIGINAL AND IS NOT A REPRODUCTION OF ANY KIND. Note that Behemecoatyl's vaginal mouth contains rows of sharp teeth, which was altered significantly for the finished creature whose mouth contained cilia. I worked on the film's F/X shoot, and this model sat around the studio the entire time. It was used as a basis for the full-size Behemecoatyl, which stood about six or seven feet high and was sculpted by Billy Hendrickson. When the shoot wrapped, I asked Skotak and Villalobos if I could have the model and they both agreed. CONDITION: The piece is a bit dusty overall. (The studio was VERY dusty. The piece could do with a good, careful brushing-off.) Some of the Sculpey has worn off of the "tentacles" (see photos), but not much. NOTE: TENTACLES WERE ONLY ORIGINALLY SCULPTED ON ONE SIDE OF THIS MODEL. All of its original tentacles are included.The lower front tip is dented (see photo). Otherwise, it looks fine.

The Perfect Rodger Young & Marauder replicas can be yours!added 2009-09-18
We have asked Mr Take Iseki from Yamato USA, Inc. about the process of making Rodger Young model. Takei says: "We did not go thorough normal sculpting process (Manually by a sculptor on clay). Instead, we made a prototype using CAD scan machine. Then, a sculptor cleaned up on the details. Then after the prototype was approved, we painted it, after it was approved, we started promoting it."
